2 tonne forklift

2 models are rated at 2 tonne. Which one is correct depends less on the number than on the load centre, the lift height and the surface — the three things that quietly reduce capacity.

What 2 tonne means in practice

Rated capacity is measured at a 500 mm load centre with the mast vertical. Every attachment moves that centre forward, and every millimetre of lift height reduces what the truck can safely hold. A 2 t truck with a 600 mm clamp is not a 2 t truck.

Three reductions matter before you compare prices:

The highlighted row is the model most often ordered in this band. It is not automatically the right one — the surface and the door width decide as often as the load.
